Un enfoque particularmente ecol\u00f3gico implica la extracci\u00f3n de celulosa de subproductos agr\u00edcolas. La celulosa, un compuesto org\u00e1nico que se produce naturalmente en las plantas mediante la fotos\u00edntesis con luz, aire y agua, est\u00e1 compuesta por carbono, hidr\u00f3geno y ox\u00edgeno. Es importante destacar que la celulosa exhibe una r\u00e1pida biodegradabilidad en comparaci\u00f3n con otras sustancias, lo que la convierte en una opci\u00f3n especialmente segura para materiales desechables.<\/p>\n<p>Con el fin de alcanzar nuestra meta \"natural y cero contaminaci\u00f3n\", EnCellules ha seleccionado la celulosa como el elemento fundamental para el desarrollo de una variedad de productos. Nuestra adhesi\u00f3n a la sostenibilidad se extiende a nuestros procesos de producci\u00f3n, donde empleamos exclusivamente materiales vegetales, agua y electricidad, evitando el uso de agentes qu\u00edmicos. Este enfoque garantiza el establecimiento de un ciclo permanente de recursos ecol\u00f3gicamente sostenible.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente, el algod\u00f3n lidera como la aplicaci\u00f3n predominante de la celulosa vegetal. La producci\u00f3n mundial de algod\u00f3n aument\u00f3 a 24.7 millones de toneladas en 2021, constituyendo el 22% del mercado mundial de fibras. No obstante, como destaca la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentaci\u00f3n y la Agricultura, el cultivo de algod\u00f3n a nivel global conlleva una huella h\u00eddrica insostenible, estimada en 1 tonelada m\u00e9trica de agua por kilogramo de algod\u00f3n. Su incorporaci\u00f3n en compuestos de FRP no solo mejora las propiedades mec\u00e1nicas, sino que tambi\u00e9n ayuda a mantener un perfil de densidad ventajoso. Estas fibras, compuestas predominantemente por c\u00e9lulas vegetales agregadas, contienen cavidades y espacios que proporcionan una excelente aislamiento t\u00e9rmico. Adem\u00e1s, su naturaleza porosa facilita la disipaci\u00f3n efectiva de energ\u00eda externa, incluidas las vibraciones. Investigaciones recientes han destacado las notables caracter\u00edsticas f\u00edsicas y qu\u00edmicas de las fibras de pi\u00f1a, posicion\u00e1ndolas como un material de refuerzo altamente prometedor en diversas industrias.<\/p><p>Bas\u00e1ndonos en nuestros hallazgos, las nanofibras de celulosa exhiben caracter\u00edsticas notables que incluyen propiedades ligeras, alta resistencia y una expansi\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica m\u00ednima. En comparaci\u00f3n con el acero de hierro, las nanofibras de celulosa poseen una densidad aproximadamente una quinta parte de la primera, mientras que son m\u00e1s de cinco veces m\u00e1s fuertes. Adem\u00e1s, su coeficiente de expansi\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica es aproximadamente una cincuentava parte del vidrio, y cuentan con una superficie espec\u00edfica que supera los 250 m<sup>2<\/sup>\/g\n<br>\n<br>\nDadas estas caracter\u00edsticas, los materiales compuestos de fibra vegetal han encontrado aplicaciones en varios componentes automotrices, como los paneles de las puertas laterales de la Serie 5 de BMW. Estos materiales se producen mezclando fibras vegetales en telas no tejidas y posteriormente uniendo con resina. La principal motivaci\u00f3n detr\u00e1s de la utilizaci\u00f3n de materiales compuestos de fibra vegetal en interiores y exteriores automotrices radica en su capacidad para lograr avances en ligereza, con una densidad de aproximadamente 1.5 g\/cm\u00b3 en comparaci\u00f3n con 2.5 g\/cm\u00b3 para alternativas de fibra de vidrio (Tabla Adem\u00e1s, se observ\u00f3 un aumento en la temperatura de distorsi\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica de 10-15 grados Celsius (consultar Figura 3).
